Joseph Jason Namakaeha Momoa, known as Jason Momoa, is an American actor and model. He gained recognition in television for his role as Ronon Dex in the Stargate: Atlantis series (2004-2009). His role as Khal Drogo in the HBO series Game of Thrones brought him international fame. Born in Honolulu in 1979 to photographer Coni and artist Joseph Momoa, he earned a bachelor's degree in Natural Life Biology from Colorado State University. He traveled extensively throughout his youth. Momoa began his career as a model before taking on acting roles. Stargate: Atlantis propelled him to fame, further boosted by his role as Drogo in Game of Thrones (2011). While his 2011 film, Conan the Barbarian, didn't meet expectations, he continued appearing in films and television. He appeared in Ana Lily Amirpour's The Bad Batch (2017) and played Aquaman in Justice League (2017) and the subsequent Aquaman film (2018). He began a relationship with actress Lisa Bonet in 2005, marrying her in November 2007 shortly after the birth of their daughter, Lola Iolani Momoa. This marriage made him the stepfather of Zoë Kravitz. In 2008, they had a son, Nakoa-Wolf Manakauapo Namakaeha Momoa.
