James Berkery

Ergin, a graduate of Art History, trained at the Ankara Experimental Stage and acted in various films and television series. In the 1970s and 1980s, he dubbed numerous foreign films and TV series into Turkish for TRT television. He had a significant breakthrough with the role of Mehmet Karahanlı in the Kurtlar Vadisi series (2003-2005). He subsequently played police characters of various ranks in the Arka Sokaklar series for an extended period. He guest-hosted the Kim Milyoner Olmak İster? quiz show when Kenan Işık was unable to present due to health reasons. From 2006 to the present, he has played the role of Rıza Soylu, initially a chief superintendent and later, from season 3 onwards, a police superintendent, in the Arka Sokaklar series.
