Ekrem Şerif Uçak, known as Ekrem Bora (1932-2012), was a Turkish film actor. Bora was born in Ankara. After graduating from middle school, he completed the Sultanahmet State Printing House Course, receiving diplomas in typesetting and bookbinding. He worked in this profession for a while. In 1953, through Sezai Solelli, he participated in and won a film actor competition organized by Yıldız Magazine. However, he went to fulfill his military service before making any films. In 1955, he made his first film, Alın Yazısı (Fate). After acting in two more films, he took a two-year break from cinema. Then he returned to cinema and became a leading male actor. Bora won the Best Actor award at the Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival in 1966. He was also chosen as the Artist of the Year by various media outlets. Ekrem Bora passed away on April 1, 2012, at Florence Nightingale Hospital in Kadıköy, where he was being treated for pulmonary edema. His funeral was held two days later at Zincirlikuyu Cemetery. Ekrem Bora remained married to Gül Bora until his death.
