Demet Akbağ (born Demet İybar) is a Turkish theater, television, and film actress from Denizli. She gained nationwide recognition for her role as Lütfiye in the television series *Bir Demet Tiyatro*. She is the daughter of Benan and Oktay İybar and has two siblings, Sedef and Kemal. She began her amateur theater career in 1982 and continued professionally in 1983 with the Gönül Ülkü - Gazanfer Özcan Theater. Besides working at the Beşiktaş Kültür Merkezi (BKM) since its inception, she has also collaborated with various theater groups, including Kent Oyuncuları, Hadi Çaman, Yeditepe Oyuncuları, Devekuşu Kabare, Dormen Tiyatrosu, and Ortaoyuncular. Akbağ entered the film industry in the 1980s, appearing in a small role in Kemal Sunal's *Davacı*. In 1997, she joined *Bir Demet Tiyatro*, a highly successful television series featuring numerous acclaimed actors, alongside Yılmaz Erdoğan. She also starred in other successful plays with Erdoğan, including *Otogargara*, *Sen Hiç Ateşböceği Gördün mü?*, and *Bana Bir Şeyhler Oluyor*. Her memorable film roles include Siti Ana in *Vizontele*, Firuze in *Neredeisin Firuze*, Nuran in *Organize İşler*, Firuzan in the *Eyyvah Eyvah* film series, Xate and Nadide in *Hükumet Kadın*, and Nadide in *Nadide Hayatta*. Her television credits include the series *Ölümsüz Aşk* and the show *Pişti*, where she was a commentator alongside Reha Muhtar, Hülya Avşar, and Beyazıt Öztürk. She also hosted the game show *Süper Aile*. She married İskender Akbağ in 1981, divorcing in 1984, and continued to use his surname throughout her career. She was later married to Saim Arpad and then to Zafer Çika in 1999, with whom she had a son, Ali Çika, in 2000. She lost her husband Zafer Çika in a traffic accident in 2019.
