Park Bo-young, born February 12, 1990, in Jeungpyeong, North Chungcheong, South Korea, is the second of three daughters. Her father served 34 years in the Special Forces. She made her acting debut in a short film, *Equal*, in 2005 while in middle school. The film won the SIYFF 2005 Challenge Reality Award at the 7th Seoul International Youth Film Festival. Park made her official acting debut in the 2006 high school television drama *Secret Campus* alongside Lee Min-ho. She rose to fame after starring with Cha Tae-hyun in the comedy *Scandal Makers* (2008), which attracted 8.3 million viewers, becoming one of the biggest hits in Korean cinema and the highest-grossing film of 2008. This role garnered her numerous Best New Actress awards in 2009. She achieved further recognition through films such as *Scandal Makers* (2008), *A Werewolf Boy* (2012), and *On Your Wedding Day* (2018), and dramas including *Oh My Ghost* (2015), *Strong Girl Bong-soon* (2017), *Abyss* (2019), and *Doom at Your Service* (2021). She is also involved in various philanthropic activities and serves as a goodwill ambassador for several organizations in Vietnam and Korea.
