After attending Haydarpaşa High School, he studied for a while at the Izmir Faculty of Economics and Commercial Sciences. He worked as a set worker in Süha Doğan's film "Öldüren Bahar", as a second assistant in Halit Refiğ's film "Gençlik Hülyaları", and as a dialogue writer in the film "İnsanlar Yaşadıkça". In 1960, he directed "Aşka Susayanlar", an adaptation of Vincente Minnelli's "Some Came Running", marking Feyzi Tuna's directorial debut. While the film was a commercial failure, it was highly praised by critics. Fevzi Tuna married Liza Tuna, a well-known manager and organizer of the time. His films from 1964/65 were noted for their calm narrative and long takes. Until 1972, he established himself in the film industry with his adaptations. In 1973, he reached the peak of his directing career with the film "Kızgın Toprak". After this film, he continued to make adventure and village films in line with the demands of the new cinema market. He also made a documentary film about Aziz Nesin. He achieved great success with the television series "Üç İstanbul".
