Shaliza Somani

Judith Rumelt, pen name Cassandra Clare, is an American author. She is known for her book series The Mortal Instruments and The Infernal Devices. Born in 1973 in Tehran, Iran, to American Jewish academics, she spent much of her childhood traveling the world with her family. Before the age of ten, she lived in countries such as England, France, and Switzerland. After finishing school, she lived in Los Angeles and New York, working for various magazines. After a long stint at the Hollywood Reporter, she began working on The Mortal Instruments series in 2004, with the first book, City of Bones, published in 2007. This series, which appeared on the New York Times bestseller list, included City of Ashes and City of Glass, also garnering significant attention. In 2011, she continued the series with City of Fallen Angels. Quickly achieving great success, Cassandra Clare began work on a new series in 2009, releasing the first book of The Infernal Devices series, Clockwork Angel, in 2010. The second book, Clockwork Prince, was released in December 2011, and the final book, Clockwork Princess, came out in 2013.
