Shyam Madiraju

Born in Katowice, Upper Silesia (then part of Nazi Germany, now Poland) on December 25, 1943, she is a German singer and actress. Her father was a Nazi officer, leading to her family's exile in Italy from 1945 to 1948 after World War II. She then moved to West Germany, completing her education in Munich. She won Best Actress awards at the 1979 Berlin Film Festival and the 1983 Cannes Film Festival. A very popular artist in Germany, she has lived in Paris, France since 1981.
