Songül Karlı

Born in Hopa district of Artvin, he graduated from Trabzon High School. He began his studies at the Physics Department of Istanbul University Faculty of Science in 1992. In 1996, he entered the History of Science Department of Istanbul University Faculty of Literature and graduated in 2003. From 1996 onwards, he participated in cinema workshops at places such as the Mesopotamia Culture Center and the Nazım Culture Center (now Nazım Hikmet Culture Center). Since 2000, he has worked as an assistant in various cinema films, including those of Yeşim Ustaoğlu. Momi is the first short film shot in Hemşin language. Tokai City Melancholy and Rhapsody is a documentary filmed in Japan. A Journey in Time Latitude with a Scientist is another documentary he signed. Alper's first feature film, Sonbahar (Autumn), which was released on December 19, 2008, won many awards at various festivals.
