Emma Kristina Degerstedt is an American actress born on April 13, 1992, in Long Beach, California. Shortly after her birth, her family moved to Sweden, returning to the US six years later. Her family consists of her Swedish-American father, Mark, her Swedish mother, Carina, and her older brother, Matten. She is best known for her role as Maris in Nickelodeon's television series, Unfabulous. She has studied classical ballet since the age of six, and also takes lyrical jazz and jazz classes. She currently resides in Huntington Beach, California, and opted for homeschooling instead of traditional schooling. In October 2006, she starred in the musical "13," playing the lead role of Kendra.
