Suresh Bhagat

Peyman Moaadi is an Iranian actor, known for his roles in Asghar Farhadi's films About Elly and A Separation. He also starred in the Hollywood film Camp X-Ray. Moaadi was born in 1971 in New York City to an Iranian family. He graduated from Islamic Azad University in Karaj with a degree in Metallurgical Engineering. He started his career in cinema as a screenwriter in the early 2000s. In 2009, he had his first significant acting role in Asghar Farhadi's About Elly. In 2011, he starred alongside Leyla Hatami and Shahab Hosseini in Farhadi's A Separation, playing the role of Nader with great success. That year, he won the Silver Bear for Best Actor at the Berlin Film Festival – shared with his co-stars Hosseini, Ali-Asghar Shahbazi, and Babak Karimi. In the 2014 film Camp X-Ray, Moaadi played Ali Amir, a detainee at Guantanamo Bay, working alongside Kristen Stewart. He also appeared in the TV series The Night Of as Salim.
