Ahmet Hoşsöyler

Willem Dafoe, born William J. Dafoe, is an American actor known for his work in both Hollywood and international cinema. Born in Appleton, Wisconsin, he is one of eight children born to Muriel Isabel and William Alfred Dafoe. He began his drama training at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, but left after a year to join experimental theatre companies. He started appearing in films in the early 1980s. His role as Sergeant Elias in the 1986 film *Platoon* earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor. He portrayed Jesus Christ in the 1988 film *The Last Temptation of Christ* and Canadian agent David Caravaggio in the 1996 film *The English Patient*. He also appeared in films such as *Shadow of the Vampire* (2000) and played Norman Osborn / Green Goblin in the *Spider-Man* film series (2002-2007). His role in Lars von Trier's 2008 film *Antichrist* won him the Bodil Award, Denmark's most prestigious film award, for Best Actor. He also starred in von Trier's controversial 2014 film *Nymphomaniac*. In 2015, he played the controversial director Pier Paolo Pasolini in the film *Pasolini*. His role in the 2017 film *The Florida Project* earned him a Golden Globe nomination for Best Supporting Actor. Dafoe, who had a relationship with director Elizabeth LeCompte in the 1980s, has a son, Jack, born in 1982. He has been married to Italian director Giada Colagrande since 2005.
