Efkan Efekan (1935-2005) was a Turkish film actor. Born in İzmir in 1935, he started his film career in 1953 as an extra in the film "Battal Gazi Geliyor." Between 1953 and 1958, he worked as an assistant to Sami Ayanoğlu. In 1959, he played a leading role in "Ölmeyen Aşk." He gained fame for frequently portraying ideal couples with Muhterem Nur. He worked with prominent directors such as Lütfi Akad, Memduh Ün, Halit Refiğ, and Metin Erksan. His most successful years were in the 1960s, a period of great growth for Turkish cinema. After a long period in leading roles, he transitioned to supporting roles. Following a brief hiatus, he returned to film in 1974 with "Kısmet," directed by Temel Gürsun. He then focused on stage acting and voice acting. From the late 1980s, he appeared in TRT television series, including adaptations of well-known literary works such as "Yaprak Dökümü," "Dudaktan Kalbe," and "Hanımın Çiftliği." His notable films include "Yangın Var," "Mahalle Arkadaşları," "Bekçi Kadın," "Aşkın Gözyaşları," "Yedi Kocalı Hürmüz," "Keşanlı Ali Destanı," and "Kısmet." He passed away on September 7, 2005, at Memorial Hospital, where he was receiving treatment for lung cancer. He was posthumously awarded the Golden Orange Award of Honor at the 42nd Golden Orange Film Festival for his contributions to Turkish cinema. He is buried in Zincirlikuyu Cemetery. He was married to Sevgi Efekan and had a daughter, Neslihan, and a son, Alihan.
