Murat Karasu is a theater and television actor. He graduated from the Mimar Sinan University State Conservatory Theater Department in 1985 and started working at the State Theaters. He worked as an actor and director at the Bursa, Ankara, and Istanbul State Theaters. In addition to his administrative roles at the State Theaters, he also held managerial positions at the State Theaters Sports Club and the State Opera and Ballet Employees Foundation (TOBAV). He directed plays in Bursa, Adana, Diyarbakır, Trabzon, Ankara, and Istanbul for the State Theaters. He also worked as a director in various theater groups such as Izmit City Theater, Bakırköy Municipal Theaters, Eskişehir Theater Anadolu, Yeditepe Players, Abdullah Şahin/Nokta Theater, Tiyatro Ti, Ankara Finance Theater, and Tiyatro Adam, as well as the Skopje People's Theater in Macedonia and the Ruse State Theater in Bulgaria. He also acted in many plays in private and subsidized theaters. He wrote two plays, "Hüzün Mahallesi Otobüsü" (The Bus of Sadness Neighborhood) and "Kaplumbağanın Ninnisi" (The Turtle's Lullaby). The first one was published and staged at the State Theaters. He lectured at Uludağ University Faculty of Education, Eskişehir Anadolu University State Conservatory Theater Department, Mimar Sinan University Department of Stage and Visual Arts, and the State Conservatory Theater Department. He currently works as a lecturer at Haliç University and Yeditepe University. He also works in cinema, television, and dubbing. He is the Istanbul Branch President of TOBAV.
