Andrea Deck

Akiva J. Goldsman, born July 7, 1962, is an American screenwriter and producer. Goldsman was born in New York City to Tev Goldsman, a therapist, and Mira Rothenberg, a child psychologist. He was educated at Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut, and New York University. In 1994, he wrote his first screenplay, Silent Fall. That same year, director Joel Schumacher filmed Goldsman's screenplay, The Client. In the 1990s, Goldsman received two Golden Raspberry Award nominations for his work on A Time to Kill and Batman & Robin. He won an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay for A Beautiful Mind, a film he was commissioned to write by Brian Grazer. He worked again with Russell Crowe, star of A Beautiful Mind, and director Ron Howard on Cinderella Man.
