Hilarie Burton Ross is an American actress, best known for her role as Peyton Sawyer in the television series One Tree Hill. Born July 1, 1982, in Sterling, Virginia, her father was a former special forces soldier and collector, and her mother was a realtor. She has three younger brothers: Billy, Johnny, and Conrad. After graduating from Park View High School, she attended New York University and Fordham University. She began her television career as a VJ on MTV's TRL, followed by a small role in Dawson's Creek. She rose to fame in 2003 with One Tree Hill, playing Peyton for six seasons. After her breakout role, she appeared in the 2005 film Our Very Own. She has also had roles in shows like White Collar, Grey's Anatomy, and Extant. She was married to Ian Prange from 2004 to 2009. She has been with Jeffrey Dean Morgan since 2009 and they have a son, Augustus, born in 2010. Her hobbies include knitting and playing cricket.
