Ciara O'Callaghan

Born and raised in New Jersey, Michael Pitt's acting career has its roots in theater. In 1999, he appeared in New York in Naomi Wallace's *The Trestle at Pope Lick Creek*, directed by Lisa Peterson. In the summer of 2000, his role as Tommy Gnosis in *Hedwig and the Angry Inch*, which won an award at the 2001 Sundance Film Festival, landed him a spot among Filmmaker Magazine's 25 New Faces of Independent Film. In the summer of 2001, he starred in Larry Clark's *Bully* and Gus Van Sant's *Finding Forrester*. In 2002, he appeared alongside Sandra Bullock in Barbet Schroeder's *Murder By Numbers*, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival. His films include *Yellow Bird*, *Mambo Cafe*, and *Hi Life*. In 2001, he became the vocalist and guitarist for a band he formed in Brooklyn. His biggest idol is Nirvana, and his style is similar. His best-known songs are 'Death to Birth' and 'Fetus'.
