Dennis Iliadis

Hiroyuki Sanada, known as Hiroyuki Sanada, is a Japanese actor. Sanada was born in Tokyo. He trained at Sonny Chiba's Japan Action Club. During his aspiration to become an action film star, he honed his martial arts skills working with the legendary actor Sonny Chiba during those years. Sanada landed his first serious role in the film *Mahjong Hourouki*, directed by Makoto Wada. After appearing in numerous Japanese productions, he gained recognition with his roles in the 2003 American film *The Last Samurai* and the 2007 American film *Rush Hour 3*. Sanada appeared as Dogen in the sixth and final season of *Lost* in 2010. In the 2010s, he continued to star in international productions such as *The Wolverine*, *47 Ronin*, and *Mr. Holmes*. He was married to actress Satomi Tezuka from 1990 to 1997 and has two children.
