Pekcan Koşar (1936-2005) was a Turkish theater, cinema, and voice actor. He voiced many leading men of Turkish cinema, including Tarık Akan and Kadir İnanır. Born in Istanbul, he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts. He began his theater career as an amateur at the Academy of Fine Arts. In 1955, he turned professional with the play "Çayhane" at Küçük Sahne. In 1958, he joined Oda Tiyatrosu, performing in plays such as "Misafir", "Gökteki kaldırımlar", "Öteki", "Tapılacak kadın", and "Tersine dönen şemsiye". He also participated in the 6 pm performances of Lale Oraloğlu Tiyatrosu. In 1961, he founded Gong Tiyatrosu. He performed in Küçük Sahne with the Engin Cezzar - Gülriz Sururi Company. After a brief period at Arena Tiyatrosu and Kadıköy Özel Tiyatrosu, he joined Kent Oyuncuları Tiyatrosu in 1969. He acted and directed at Bakırköy Belediye Tiyatroları. He voiced hundreds of radio plays. He died of a heart attack at his summer house in Yalova in 2005 and was buried in Zincirlikuyu Cemetery in Istanbul. He is the father of Itri Koşar, also a theater artist known for her numerous voice-overs in commercials. Pekcan Koşar is best remembered for voicing Tarık Akan in the Hababam Sınıfı series and Kadir İnanır in the film Selvi Boylum Al Yazmalım.
