Jack Braddy

Diane Kruger, known by her stage name, is a German actress. She is best known for her role as Helen in Wolfgang Petersen's film *Troy*. Kruger was born in 1976 in Algermissen, Hildesheim, Germany. Her father, Hans-Heinrich, was a computer specialist, and her mother, Maria-Theresa, was a banker. She has a brother named Stefan. She moved to London with the aim of becoming a ballerina and trained at the Royal Ballet School, but had to give up ballet due to an injury. She then moved to Paris and began learning French. In 1992, she started modeling after participating in the Elite Model Look competition. She entered the film industry in 2001. Her international fame increased with the 2004 film *Troy*. She gained 15 pounds for her role as Helen in *Troy*. Besides *Troy*, she also played Bridget von Hammersmark, a German actress, in Quentin Tarantino's 2009 film *Inglourious Basterds*. In the 2015 film *Maryland*, she played Jessie, the wife of a wealthy Lebanese businessman. In Fatih Akin's 2017 film *In the Fade*, she played Katja, a woman who seeks revenge after losing her family in a bombing, a role which earned her critical acclaim and the Best Actress Award at the Cannes Film Festival. She was married to French actor and director Guillaume Canet from 1999 to 2005. Canet later married Marion Cotillard. Kruger was in a relationship with Canadian actor Joshua Jackson from 2006 to 2016. Afterwards, she began a relationship with Norman Reedus, her co-star from the TV series *Sky*. In 2018, she gave birth to her first child from this relationship.
