Karina Lombard is an American actress of Tahitian descent. Born in Tahiti in 1969, her mother is Lakota Native American and her father was of Russian, Italian, and Swiss descent. At the age of one, her father took her to Barcelona, Spain. Later, she attended various boarding schools in Switzerland, where she became fluent in Spanish, English, French, Italian, and German. At 18, she moved to New York City, where she began modeling and taking acting classes. Karina Lombard was discovered during test shoots for a Calvin Klein advertisement with a Native American theme. One of Lombard's photos was selected for billboard display. She received her theater training and experience at the Gallery Theatre, The Neighborhood Playhouse, The Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute, and The Actors Studio in New York City. As a film actress, she appeared in the first and fourth seasons of the television series The L Word and gained attention for her role in The 4400.
