Diane Colleen Lane is an American actress. Born in New York in 1965, she is the daughter of Playboy model and dancer Colleen Leigh Farrington (Colleen Price) and acting coach Burton Eugene Lane. Lane's parents separated when she was only 13 days old. After living in Mexico with her mother until age 6, she moved to live with her father. She began acting in theatre during her childhood. At age 13, she appeared in her first film, *A Little Romance*, where she had the opportunity to act alongside acting legend Laurence Olivier. At 15, she moved back to Los Angeles after separating from her father, but later returned to New York. In 1983, she starred alongside Matt Dillon and Mickey Rourke in Francis Ford Coppola's *Rumble Fish*. She was considered one of the best young talents of the 1980s. In the 1992 film *Chaplin*, she portrayed Paulette Goddard, one of Charlie Chaplin's wives. In the 1990s, she starred in films such as *Judge Dredd*, *Wild Bill*, and *A Walk on the Moon*. In 2000, she starred in the disaster film *Perfect Storm*. Her performance in the 2002 film *Unfaithful* earned her an Academy Award nomination. She appeared in *Jumper* in 2008. In the 2013 film *Man of Steel*, she played Martha Kent, Clark Kent's mother, and reprised the role in subsequent Superman/DC films. From 1988 to 1994, she was married to French actor Christopher Lambert, and they had a daughter, Eleanor Lambert, in 1993. She was married to Josh Brolin from 2004 to 2013.
