Lolita Chammah

Berkun Oya is a Turkish playwright, actor, screenwriter, and theatre and film director. Graduating from the Mimar Sinan University Theatre Department in 1998, he founded the Krek Theatre Group that same year. In 2002, he wrote and produced the drama series *Şapkadan Babam Çıktı*, which aired on TRT. In 2003, at the request of the Istanbul State Theatre, he adapted Yakup Kadri Karaosmanoğlu's novel *Yaban* for the stage. He wrote and directed the film *İyi Seneler Londra*, which was released in 2007. The film competed at the 44th Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival and was the opening film at the European Independent Film Festival ECU 2008. Subsequently, in 2008, it was nominated for Best Film, Best Director, and Best Screenplay at the Strasbourg International Film Festival, with Oya winning Best Director. In 2020, he directed *Bir Başkadır*, a successful Turkish series on Netflix.
