Mike He started his career as a model in TV commercials and magazines, captivating girls with his handsome face and perfect smile. Before landing his first acting role, he appeared in music videos for Valen Hsu and Angelice Lee. His first drama series was 7th Grade in 2004. 2005 was a breakthrough year for Mike He. Starring in Devil Beside You, reportedly Taiwan's second most popular drama at the time, he garnered award nominations and rose to become one of the most popular actors in Asia. He earned the nickname "XiaoMei" due to a character he played, a famously ugly comedian named He, similar to his own name, in the drama "It Started with a Kiss." Mike He says this was definitely not a compliment! His foray into acting stemmed from his work in music videos; he never expected to reach this level of success. His family avoids watching scenes where he kisses. He's terrified of making mistakes on set. He's quiet and doesn't talk much. He often sits silently on street corners, leading people to believe he's always deep in thought. Despite hanging out mostly with singers, he's a terrible singer himself. He never engages in one-night stands, believing relationships are sacred and should be cherished. In relationships, he values trust and honesty above all else, believing couples should hide nothing from each other. His ex-girlfriends describe him as very understanding and considerate, but decidedly unromantic except on special occasions!
