Mike Montesano

Michael George Ansara (1922-2013) was a Syrian-American actor. He is known in Turkey for his role as Abu Sufyan in Mustafa Akkad's film, The Message. Born in Syria, Ansara immigrated to the United States with his family at the age of two. After starting with small roles in film, he gained recognition on television with series such as Broken Arrow and Law of the Plainsman in 1956. He also appeared in Star Trek in 1966 and did voice work for Batman: The Animated Series in his later years. He had three marriages, and his marriage to Barbara Eden resulted in a son, Matthew, who died of a heroin overdose in 2001 at the age of 35. Michael Ansara died at his home in California on July 31, 2013, at the age of 91.
