Daniel Wroughton Craig is a British actor. Since 2005, he has portrayed the famous agent James Bond in the film series. Born in Chester, Cheshire, England in 1968, Craig's father, Tim Craig, was a pub owner, and his mother, Olivia Craig, was an art teacher. His parents are of Welsh origin. He also has an older sister, Lea. He attended Hilbre High School and, at the age of 16, joined the National Youth Theatre, performing in shows presented in Valencia and Moscow. He made his film debut in 1992. His fame increased with films such as Elizabeth and Lara Croft: Tomb Raider. In 2005, he was contracted to play James Bond, taking over the role from Pierce Brosnan. He became the first blonde actor to play James Bond. In 1992, he married actress Fiona Loudon, but they separated after two years. They have a daughter, Ella. He later had long-term relationships with German actress Heike Makatsch and producer Satsuki Mitchell. In 2011, he married British actress Rachel Weisz, whom he had known for many years.
