Yurdaer Okur, a theater and film actor, attended Bafra High School before enrolling in the Tourism Management department at Akdeniz University. After studying there for three years, he realized it wasn't for him and in 1994 he was accepted into the Hacettepe University State Conservatory's Theater department. He later earned a master's degree from the M.S.Ü State Conservatory. In 1999, Okur met Genco Erkal and performed in "Yalınayak Sokrates." He then joined the Istanbul State Theater, where he acted in plays such as "Leenane'nin Güzellik Kraliçesi," "Ben Ruhi Bey Nasılım," and "Benerci Kendini Niçin Öldürdü." He became a permanent member of the Diyarbakır State Theater in 2002, performing in plays like "Hortlak," "Dünyanın Ortasında Bir Yer," and "Yaşar Ne Yaşar Ne Yaşamaz." He also directed children's plays and taught drama to young people in Diyarbakır. Besides theater, Okur has also worked in film, appearing in a small role in "Sır Çocukları" in 2002. In 2004, he starred in the French-Turkish co-production "Chemins d'O (Sunrise)" by Estelle Gérard. This short film participated in festivals in France, the Netherlands, and Japan. Discovering and loving film acting through this film, Okur acted in the horror-thriller "Gen" in 2006. He has also appeared in numerous commercials and television series. Recently, Okur has been seen in the Fox TV series "Yabani."
