Shashi Sharma

Kevin Patrick Smith is a director and actor. Known for his independent and original films, he made a quick entrance into the film world when his first film, Clerks, won an award at the Sundance Film Festival, a bastion of American independent cinema, in 1994. He creates and films his movies within a world he calls the View Askewniverse, and all of his films are shot in his hometown of New Jersey. The characters Jay and Silent Bob frequently appear in these films, with Smith himself playing Silent Bob. Many of his films are full of absurd humor and references to popular culture elements like Spielberg films and the Star Wars series. He has worked with actors such as Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, and Jason Lee many times. Also a huge comic book fan, Smith has written for humor magazines and has also written Jay and Silent Bob stories.
