Beren Saat, born in 1984, is a Turkish television and film actress. She has starred in numerous TV series, but is best known for her role as Bihter Ziyagil in the series Aşk-ı Memnu. She was born and raised in Ankara and graduated from TED Ankara College. While studying Business Administration at Başkent University, she participated in the Turkish Stars, a talent show for aspiring actors and actresses. Although she finished second, she gained significant attention. She secured a role in the series Aşkımızda Ölüm Var, followed by her first leading role in Aşka Sürgün. She appeared in Hatırla Sevgili, a series depicting the 1970s and 1980s, playing the character Yasemin. Later, she starred in Aşk-ı Memnu, an adaptation of Halit Ziya Uşaklıgil's work. This series broke viewership records, solidifying Beren Saat's position, alongside her co-star Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ, as one of Turkey's most famous and highest-paid actors. She later starred in Fatmagül'ün Suçu Ne and İntikam, the Turkish adaptation of the American ABC series Revenge. Beren Saat has also appeared in several films, including Güz Sancısı and Gecenin Kanatları. In the 2012 film Gergedan Mevsimi, she had the opportunity to work alongside Monica Bellucci. Since 2012, she has been in a relationship with renowned pop singer Kenan Doğulu. The couple got engaged in February 2014 and married in the United States in July of the same year. In recent years, she has also appeared in highly-discussed productions such as Atiye and İstanbul İçin Son Çağrı.
