Channing Matthew Tatum is an American actor and film producer. He began his career as a model before transitioning into acting. Born in Cullman, Alabama, to Kay and Glenn Tatum, he has a sister named Paige. He was raised in Pascagoula, Mississippi, and attended Tampa Catholic High School. Not a stellar student, Tatum excelled in various sports. After graduating high school in 1998, he received a football scholarship to Glenville State College, but left before graduating and worked various jobs, including stripping. He then moved to Miami to pursue modeling. His modeling career developed alongside his work as a dancer in music videos and commercials, leading to appearances in major magazines. He gained international fame in 2006 with roles in *She's the Man* with Amanda Bynes and *Step Up* with Jenna Dewan. He starred in films such as *Enemy of the State*, *G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra*, *21 Jump Street* (2012) with Jonah Hill, and *Magic Mike* (2012), which reflected his own past experiences as a stripper. Further notable roles include *White House Down* (2013), *Foxcatcher* (2014), *Jupiter Ascending* (2015), *The Hateful Eight* (2015), *Logan Lucky* and *Kingsman: The Golden Circle*. Tatum began dating Jenna Dewan shortly after they met on the set of *Step Up*. They became engaged in September 2008 in Maui, Hawaii, and married on July 11, 2009, in Malibu, California. They had a daughter, Everly Elizabeth Maiselle Tatum, in 2013. They separated in April 2018.
