Robin Wright, known as Robin Wright Penn during her marriage to Sean Penn, is an American actress. She gained recognition in the 1984-88 television series Santa Barbara, playing Kelly Capwell. Her breakout role was in Rob Reiner's cult classic "The Princess Bride", launching her into a successful film career. She received her first two award nominations, for a Golden Globe and a SAG Award, in 1994 for her role as Jenny, Forrest Gump's love interest, in Robert Zemeckis's *Forrest Gump*. She garnered critical acclaim for her performance in the 2005 independent film *Nine Lives*. Her role as Claire Underwood in the Netflix series *House of Cards*, which began in 2013, earned her numerous awards, including a Golden Globe. In 2017, she appeared as Antiope, Wonder Woman's mother, in the film *Wonder Woman*. Throughout her career, Wright has played both leading and supporting roles. She was married to Academy Award-winning actor Sean Penn from 1996 to 2010, whom she met in 1989. They have two children, Dylan Penn (born 1991) and Hopper Penn (born 1993). She was previously married to Dane Witherspoon from 1986 to 1988.
