Olivier Martinez is a French actor. Born in Paris on January 12, 1966, his father was a Spanish boxer of Moroccan descent, and his mother was a French secretary. After studying acting at the Conservatoire National Supérieur d'Art Dramatique in France, he began his career with the 1992 film IP5, starring Yves Montand and directed by Jean-Jacques Beineix. In 1994, his performance in Bertrand Blier's 1, 2, 3 Sun, also starring Marcello Mastroianni, earned him a César Award for Most Promising Actor. He gained international recognition playing Juliet Binoche's lover in Jean-Paul Rappeneau's Horseman on the Roof. He went on to star in films such as Bertrand Blier's Mon Homme, Bigas Luna's The Chambermaid on the Titanic, Mario Camus' La Ville des Prodiges, Eric Barbier's Toreros, and Julian Schnabel's Before Night Falls. In 2002, he garnered acclaim for his role as the seductive French lover in Unfaithful, opposite Richard Gere and Diane Lane. This performance solidified his Hollywood presence. He appeared in S.W.A.T. in 2003, playing the villain alongside Samuel L. Jackson, Colin Farrell, and Michelle Rodriguez. In 2004, he starred in Taking Lives with Angelina Jolie, Ethan Hawke, and Kiefer Sutherland. He also appeared in Dark Tide (2011) and in the TV series Revenge (2014), playing Pascal LeMarchal in 5 episodes. He has had long-term relationships with well-known actresses such as Mira Sorvino and Kylie Minogue. He has a son, Maceo, with American actress Halle Berry, whom he was married to from 2013 to 2016.
