Für die Indie-Rockband "Slash" könnte es besser laufen, aber Bandleader Joseph McDonald (James O'Shea) sieht den Silberstreif am Horizont, als er die Nachricht bekommt, daß seine Tante Edith verstorben sei und er bitte zwecks Beerdigung in die alte ländliche Heimat zurückkehren möge. Dazu wird ihm eine Vogelscheuchenfigur überreicht, die den Widerstrebenden dann doch überzeugt, kurzfristig mit der Band samt Tourbus Halt auf der McDonald-Farm zu machen. Dort allerdings ist an baldigen Wiederabschied nicht zu denken, erst sieht man sich mysteriösen Warnungen ausgesetzt, dann geht das bandeigene Gefährt kaputt. Und dann ist da noch der als Vogelscheuche aufgemachte Killer, der sich seinen Weg durch Umgebung und Rockband mittels einer Sense "slasht". Das alles hat auch mit Josephs Familiengeschichte zu tun, doch sein Vater (Steve Railsback) schweigt sich über das aus, was Joseph inzwischen mit Erfolg verdrängt hat...
