Newlywed teacher Layal is arrested and sentenced to eight years in prison for picking up a young man accused of involvement in a terrorist attack. She discovers she's pregnant while incarcerated and decides to have the baby. But with the Israeli-Palestinian conflict raging, the prison, where Palestinian political prisoners are held alongside Israeli hardened criminals, becomes a place where survival is increasingly difficult.
