Centuries of violent resistance against European imperialist regimes force General Anton Vincenti Michael Caine, a British-born Caribbean dictator, to flee his country. Fifteen-year-old rebellious American girl Tatiana Mills Odeya Rush is pen pals with the dictator Anton Vincent. Finding nowhere else to go, Vincent is forced to take refuge in the garage of his pen pal Tatiana's suburban American home. Vincent, growing close to Tatiana and her single mother Darlene, becomes like a real family, focusing his attention on Tatiana's high school life. Vincent and Tatiana decide to take down the popular girls at school, implementing a politically charged scheme. However, things quickly spiral out of control, and now Tatiana must overthrow the general.
