Roshan Mehra has lived his entire life in New York and knows absolutely nothing about life in India, where he is forced to go at the request of his terminally ill grandmother who wishes to spend her last days in her homeland. In this unfamiliar country, with its constant noise and commotion, strange customs and laws, Roshan finds himself a complete outsider. At the same time, his grandmother is immensely happy, having spent the best years of her life there. The diversity of cultures and religions astounds Roshan, but most of all he is struck by the juxtaposition of luxury and poverty in Delhi's rich and poor neighborhoods. Slowly, he begins to acclimate to this new world, and meeting the beautiful Bittu changes his life forever...
