General Information
A mysterious Irishman, Finian, and his beautiful daughter, Sharon, arrive one day in Rainbow Valley, a small Southern town in the mythical state of Missitucky, home to a legendary tobacco crop. The town has its own resident dreamer, Woody Mahoney, who believes that by crossing mint with tobacco he could put the town on the map, since it already grows menthol. Finian plans to plant the crop in the soil so it will grow faster, believing that it was a stolen leprechaun's hoard of gold and that he or other Americans would rush to dig up the plant in the ground as they did for California gold out of Fort Knox faster. But the problem is that a leprechaun, Og, who followed Finian to America and is pursuing his gold, has arrived. Meanwhile, the bigoted Senator Billboard Rawkins plans to acquire the remaining parcel of land needed to stop the project, in the form of a new dam and hydroelectric system, to halt its progress within his state – Woody's, which Finian bought at a foreclosure auction. But then the government's geologists reveal the Senator's land sits atop the gold deposit! Sharon, infuriated by this bigotry, while Rawkins and his men stand on the gold pot, shouts out the shared crop as an excuse for Blacks and whites living together, but facing seizing their land using an unknown law that makes it a crime.
