After immigrating to Greece from Nigeria, Charles and Vera struggle to survive and care for their five children, living under the constant threat of deportation. Their eldest son remains in Nigeria with relatives while the couple fights for Greek citizenship, only to find themselves thwarted at every turn by a system working against them. Brothers Giannis and Thanasis, along with their family, sell goods to tourists on the streets of Athens when they aren't playing basketball with a local youth team. Their considerable talent on the court is discovered, and they, along with their brother Kostas, strive to become world-class athletes.
