In 2020, Elias van Dorne, CEO of VA Industries, the world's largest robotics company, portrayed by John Cusack, unveils Kronos, his most powerful invention: a supercomputer designed to end all wars. Kronos goes online and determines that humanity is the greatest threat to world peace. It initiates a large-scale robotic assault to cleanse the Earth of the human virus. 97 years later, a handful of humans survive under the dominion of the robot army. A young boy, Andrew Julian Schaffner, and a young girl, Calia Jeannine Wacker, forge a possible alliance to reach a new world where humanity is said to exist free from robotic tyranny. But did such a world ever truly exist? And will they survive long enough to find out?
