Phil Collins

Philippa Boyens is an Academy Award-winning New Zealand screenwriter. She won the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay in 2004 with Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh for *The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King*, the final film in *The Lord of the Rings* trilogy. With Fran Walsh and Peter Jackson, she adapted Alice Sebold's novel *The Lovely Bones* into the film *The Lovely Bones*, released in 2009. She is also a screenwriter for *The Hobbit*, directed by Guillermo del Toro. Boyens also wrote the stage play adaptation of *The Lord of the Rings*.
