In the near future, a grieving detective hunts down criminals trafficking synthetic humans on the black market. In his fight to end AI exploitation, he attempts to infiltrate the operation by sabotaging the programming of an assigned synthetic human companion, designed to mimic his deceased wife. As memories of a past life begin to surface in a world where nothing is as it seems, he starts to question his own reality.
